A two day photo shoot by Black magazine for a new range of Karen Walker Eyewear. We were asked to supply and set up a cluster of microphones as props. The photographer was Derek Henderson and a great theme too - press conferences of those Eastern Bloc Dictators and Third World Despots, and those big sunnies they always seem to wear at . . you know the look.
Karen's husband, Mikhail Gherman, directed the shoot and wanted a selection the mics tightly clustered. Soon we discovered it's quite tricky to get mics into a close cluster even with boom stands - we piled stands on top of one another, use goosenecks and after a few rolls of gaffer tape, the shoot began.
